Hiring TEachers Essay Recruiting New Personnel Effectively Anyone interested in becoming a teacher? Please follow these basic procedures. First, you must go to the school board and picked up the teacher packet. It has to be filled out completely and turned in along with three references letters and all college transcripts. Secondly, you must set up an interview with a personnel person who will go over your qualifications and ask what grade or level you want to teach. Third, you must then set up an interview with the Personnel Director for elementary, middle, or high school. Fourth, you will receive a call to interview with the Principals at the schools that have openings for you. Fifth, you must wait until a principal calls and says that you have a position with them. Long and tedious would be the best words to describe this method of hiring personnel, yet, I know that even just four years ago these were the basic procedures that Duval County used for Hiring TEachers Essay and other personnel. They did do some college fairs to attract attention and get a pool of people interested. I was hired through the local college fair, and the only step I was able to skip was step three. There are two schools in California who are using new methods to hopefully solve the problem to that question. Elk Grove is a district of 41,000 students outside of Sacramento. The first thing they have done is start recruiting their own. They are working with San Francisco State Universitys Teacher Education Institute. By building a partnership the county is able to bring future teachers into the classroom and evaluate how they perform. They have plenty of time to review the candidates and decide whom they would like to hire, rather than base their selection on simply an interview. Secondly, Elk Grove, like many other schools, had a need for teachers certified in specific subjects. Like the corporate world, the county decided to offer hiring bonuses to those who were willing to come teach in their district. Although currently there is no assurance of longevity, the positions for now are filled. (Ibid, 8-9) Both of these methods are currently in place now in Duval County. Duval has stepped up their relationship with the University of North Florida and also the University of Florida to use their education program to view and hire qualified teachers. Duval County also offers sign on bonuses for critical shortage areas, but they even went a step further to help with the issue of longevity. Teachers in special education, math, science, and technology receive a small bonus for promising to stay in the county for another year. Hesperia is a district of 15,000 students that is northeast of Los Angeles. Hesperia goes further out in their method of recruiting teachers. They do nationwide searches by going to colleges and school districts in other states. Through these methods, Hesperia is able to find out where there are surplus teachers and try to recruit them to come to California. This enables them to target employees who are already working in the field of education and understands its demands. How To Get People To (Actually) Read Your Content How do you make sure that people are actually reading your content? You may spend a lot of time making sure that your content is converting well and that your readersà are sharing it online, but is it actually being read?à How do you know? With all of the analytics and metrics at our disposal that tell us aboutà traffic, knowing if your content is being read is often a black hole for marketers. Thats a problem. Why Youà Need To Make Sure That Your Content Is Being Read It can take a lot of time to produce great content, no matter how efficient your workflow is. As the old saying goes, time equals money, and it only makes sense to get as much out of your content as you can. After all, theres no ROI inà content that people arentà reading. Theres no ROIà onà content thatà people arentà reading.à #ContentMarketingIn addition to driving traffic, content marketing is also about building your reputation as a thought leader in your field.à You need to establish yourself as someone your audience can trust for great advice and leadership. This simple plugin allowed us to createà heatmaps of our very own, using our actual readers as the sampling. This is what we learned about our own blog using heatmaps: Our readers are highly focused on our content because we have a very clean page. This is good. Our content followed the fairly typical F-pattern similar to Nielsons findings. As readers moved down the page, they tended to focus more on the left side of the content. On some posts, many readers didnââ¬â¢t make it past reading 20-30% of our content. Based on clicks, most sharing took place at the pages 35%à mark. Highlighted text, links, and headlines drewà plenty ofà attention. Only 10-20% of readers actually make it to the bottom of the post. These finding line up with some of the most popular conclusions and findings regarding content. The longer your content is, the less likely that everyoneà will read it.à That said, there are also many benefits ofà long-form content so you need to find the right balance. You should also test this out for yourself. Consider Where Theyà Read Your Content How many people read your blog on their phone or tablet? I bet its more that you think. Research frequently shows thatà consuming email,à searching the internet, and using social networksà are some ofà theà most popular activitiesà done on a handheldà device. Many of these activities are resulting in click-throughs that are coming to your site on a mobile device. Do you like what they are finding? Whens the last time you simply sat quietly reading on your couch? Probably not nearly as often as youd like. In addition to reading your content, your visitors areà alsoà cooking dinner, riding the subway, checking their email, watching a movie, and emailing their mother-in-lawà ââ¬â at the same time! How are you going toà compete with all of that? 1. Allow Each Sentence To Lead To The Next One of the most basic ways to keep your readers attention is to simply ensure that each sentence you writeà compelsà your readers to move on to the next. For example, the purpose of your headline is to get your readers to move onto the first sentence. The purpose of the second sentence is to get them to move on to the third. You get the idea. Keep your content compelling all the way through. 2. Followà The Inverted Pyramid Model When You Write The inverted pyramid is a great tool for structuring your content in a way that readers will appreciate and consume. This is a method that newspaper journalists have been using for years.
